Literature has always been the life-blood of Harper’s Bazaar. To celebrate our long history of publishing work by world-renowned writers, we are launching the inaugural Bazaar Literary Salon, a day of fascinating talks and panels featuring leading female novelists and senior women from the world of publishing.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, which will take place on 20 May in the private rooms at The Ned in London. Book one of the inspiring hour-long discussions, each followed by a champagne reception and light refreshments, or buy a day pass to enjoy all four.

First in the stellar line-up of speakers is the Booker Prize-nominated novelist Ali Smith, who will be joined by Bazaar’s literary editor Erica Wagner for a conversation on the theme of ‘Heroines Lost and Found’. Referencing the protagonists in Smith’s most recent novels, Autumn, Winter and How to Be Both, the pair will discuss how the notion of heroines is being reframed and reclaimed in contemporary women’s fiction.

Aspiring writers will want to book a place for our ‘How to Get Your First Book Published’ panel discussion, in which experts including Bazaar's editor-in-chief Justine Picardie, Bloomsbury’s group editor-in-chief Alexandra Pringle and the literary agent Karolina Sutton will offer advice on how to make your manuscript stand out.

Further confirmed speakers include the award-winning Turkish-born author and women’s rights activist Elif Shafak, the novelist and short-story writer Tessa Hadley and the acclaimed writer Jessie Burton, whose best-selling debut novel The Miniaturist was recently adapted for a BBC television drama starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Romola Garai.

Tickets cost £25 each or £75 for a day pass, refreshments and a luxury gift bag including Primavera Journal from Christian Lacroix for Galison, Commodity Style Guide and STARSKIN The Master Cleanser Foam.
